Find my soul sitting atop a fence watching over the people
Feeling helpless as terror rings out, domestic terrorism
A world I cannot recognize gets worse as I sleep
I become afraid to open my eyes and see more destruction
We tear each other down, and we tear each other apart
For what?
Is it so important to be superior rather than equal for you?
Can you only see your own skin and your own world?
I see them all. Every. Single. Person. I see them.
Not with my eyes, but with my heart…until it fails to start.
I pray they put their burden on me to save themselves.
I cry in the night feeling their suffrage and pain.
I stay awake waiting and hoping…dreaming and praying
That your son, your daughter, your family will come home safe.
In solidarity, I stand with those without a voice and those with one as well.
Scream with me or I will scream for you…
I am your support.
I am your person.
I am here.
